Thanks for your comment Scott. I have to say that I am extremely excited for you and your journey in rediscovering some great music! One that will be all the more special in sharing it with your son, I'm sure. Funny, but I have noticed as well there seems to be two types of listening preferences: the "singles" and the "album" listener. I'm an album guy. Give the albums a shot as I have found some my favorite songs by very popular artists never made it to radio.
I too must confess that for years I missed out on some great tunes by not giving some artists a listen just because I thought their single stank(don't tell anyone). Good example of this is Blind Melon, radio was blowing up the "No Rain" single and I thought the song was horrible(turned out to be the worst song on the record). It wasn't till years later a friend gave me the record and said you have to listen to the whole thing. Now, Blind Melon is on regular rotation in the shop during the summer months. Sharing your love for The Who.

I have spent about 26 years in radio, but sadly I was always "singles" oriented. By that I mean I only listened to the "hits" and with the exception of Earth, Wind & Fire, I never listened to an entire album. Now, my son is teaching me about all the stuff I ignored over the years! Hendrix, Steely Dan and even Bruce Springsteen.

If you would have asked me if I wanted to see The Who in concert before the Super Bowl I would have told you no, now I want to :)

Hi Laura,
I haven't heard of the Christmas spider before, but I will have to check into getting one of those for next year's tree! Happy New Year :)

Oh yeah, I'm from a Germany family in PA too and we've got the pickle up on the tree! We also have a spider ornament; it's supposed to be good luck too!
