He Who Lies Down with Dogs Wakes Up with an Itchy Playoff Beard
The Flyers scored in OT last night to beat the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 4-3 in the second game of the Stanley Cup Final, yes folks…WE HAVE A SERIES! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipk3M_wbVwQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0xe1600f&color2=0xfebd01&border=1]
I got up today with a little more jump than usual, ready to start the day and hack into the seriously long list of things that need to get done at the shop. Surprising I got any sleep because this playoff beard I’ve been growing for charity is out of control and wakes me up at night because it tickles my nose.
However, Karma had other ideas.
Yes, that’s him…sleeping on his back no less, jowls flapping in the breeze. The best part is when you try rouse him, he ignores you like you’re not even alive. Then the game begins as you have to give him a little petting, talk real excited like, and sometimes do a little dance. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he does it on purpose just to see me dance around like a fool.
We are working on getting all the new items that debuted at Art Star Philly up in our Etsy shop. I wanted to share the first card in a new collection we are printing that will be up in the shop and available at our retail locations next week.
Project: Single Card
Font: Caslon
Color(s): UV Black
Paper: 110lb, 100% Cotton, Bright White
Job Notes: We are crazy about all things Ben Franklin, it’s no wonder we ended up printers. So, who better to kick off our series of “Quotes” cards than BF? We chose Caslon as the font to pay homage to the very popular typeface of the period. Universal Black was the hands down winner for color choice due to it’s slightly Graphite tint, especially when we decided to pair this card with a gorgeous orange envelope, a very smart look. A 100% tree-free, bright white, cotton paper was selected as the stock, it has a wonderful hand and is a “toothy” stock that takes a really dramatic impression.
The impression is just right, kept at a level you can feel and see with the eye. The quote selected is one of good tidings, appropriate for multiple occasions, holidays, or just well wishes. We love how this cards looks as much as it’s message. Hope you agree.
